Laurel Forster is a senior lecturer in the department of media studies with specialisms in print media and cultural studies.

She has published in the field of modernism, women writers and the first world war.

Her work within the Portsmouth 1970s group stems from interests in feminism, women's magazines and domestic life of the period. She has published articles which discuss radical magazines and science fiction film of the period. She is currently working on television of the decade, with particular focus on science fiction and the play for today strand.
